Dance with me.
POST 298.
I want to live in a boathouse one day.
Today must've been one of the best "family gathering sessions" I've had. At first I didn't like it waking up early in the morning, carrying a huge bag of Satay and taking the minibus then the MTR and then walking to the ferry area. But then, it actually was all worth it afterall.
And I still feel like I'm rocking on the boat.
The boat was about 70 feet big ( which is actually huge. ) and had 2 floors. Technically, 3 since there was a lower floor where the restroom and kitchen AND, seats and tables were. The boat was divided into 3 parts. The back was an area with sofa seats all three corners and a huge table in the middle with those white plastic chairs. Yes, that is where most of us spent most of our time eating and watching others water ski and all that when we arrived at the Sai Kong area. ( And stayed there for about 5 hours before heading back to Tsim Sha Tsui ) Then there was the middle which was a covered, surrounded by wooden doors and windows area with sofas inside too and a table. And then stairs down to the restrooms and kitchen and the other sofa and table area.
The second floor was awesome. There were 2 long sofa ( flat ) seats at the end which were on the floor so we could lie there and sun tan. And then at the driver seat there were sofa seats there too and a table.
And thank god the weather was great today. It was windy and a little cloudy so it wasn't that sunny. The sunblock was so, not needed.
Once we arrived at Sai Kong, people were ( we were with my dad's friends and friends and, my cousin, aunt and uncle. ) getting off and on the boat for/after those banana boat, slash water ski rides. My cousin and her parents were swimming with those noodles ( the floats. ) to the beach. It looked pretty far, like 200m away. I didn't intend to get into the water at all because I didn't like getting wet but finally, I decided to give the banana boat a go.
My dad sat in the front while I was in the middle and my aunt behind me. The speedboat started and dragged the banana boat along. At first it was slow, and then it got faster and faster and with those waves, the ride was very. very. scary. At first I suppose since I never sat on anything like that before. After that, I was just trying to concentrate on not falling and trying to balance the boat when the speedboat started zig zagging.
My aunt fell after probably 10 seconds. My dad and I didn't even know. I only realised she fell after I heard no response from her ( she was screaming all the way ) and, when we saw a pair of waving hands in the water. She got back on and after a few spins, we all fell into the water. I didn't like the saltwater :P It was very salty. And we decided not to continue anymore after that cos my legs were aching from trying to control the banana boat. But hey, it was fun. I didn't expect anything like that to be any fun.
Then after that we spent a few more hours on the boat, eating, resting. It took us about an hour to get back to the ferry station so I was up on the second floor the whole time and the wind and all, I was about to fall asleep. It was really, really awesomely comfortable. I was so sad when the boat had reached the station. Like, gahhh. ):
And I still feel like I'm on the boat now, rocking from left to right. Ooh.
So indeed today makes the list of one of the best sundays ever. I'd have to get my nails repainted though, they all chipped when I was on the banana boat ride. And I have to get my cousin to send me all my photos which I took using her camera. D:
